Earthworm Jim is a side scrolling "run and gun" platformer first released for the Sega Genesis in 1994, then ported to various other systems including the SNES. The main protagonist is an earthworm named Jim (not too surprising), who fights evil by using his head as a whip, or by using his Plasma Blaster and his Pocket Rocket. The game became known for it's absurdity and horror comedy.

About Jim:
Jim was an ordinary worm living on Earth, until one day the ultra-high-tech-indestructable-super-space-cyber-suit has fallen from the sky. When Jim got in the suit, it's powerful atomic particles caused Jim to grow and evolve at an unbelievable rate.

Gameplay:
As mentioned above, the game is a platformer. Depending on the version of the game, there are 10-12 levels, most of them have a boss, and there are a few mini-bosses too.
