Renegade Battle for Jacobs Star (1995)(SSI) Game

Renegade: Battle for Jacob's Star is a space simulator based off FASA's Renegade Legion: Interceptor.
The Story: You’re a Renegade Pilot who decided not to follow orders by refusing to retreat from the TOG fighter patrol. As a consequence you are busted down and sent to a back water planet to serve as a pilot. As you land you report to a foul mouthed drill sergeant type commander named "Mother".
Soon you will find yourself flying several sorties and eventually becoming the commander as "Mother" disappears after a mission.
Gameplay: The flight model is much like the First Wing Commander. The controls are simple and it aims for the arcade like feel. Some of the great things is after a while you have choices of wingmen and ships. Be careful how or use both. If a ship is damaged is will be out of play until it is repaired. Your wingmen can tire of be injured which puts them out of play as well.
The difficulty can be adjusted in the settings all the way down to firing accuracy for the TOG fighters. Be careful not to give yourself too much advantage as the mission won't count and you will have to do it all over again. Another great feature is you can insert your own Music CD and listen to it while flying your missions.
OVERALL: This game was strong but suffered under more popular titles. This definitely is one to play.
