Trolls (1992)(Capstone Software) Game

You are this Troll, running around saving Troll babies. Smooth Scrolling, nice music
Quick Reference Keys:

Up Arrow:     Jump
              Tapped Quickly to Fly when you have wings...
Down Arrow:   Down, or Enter a Door
Left Arrow:   Left
Right Arrow:  Right

Miscellaneous Info:

Entering Doors/Level Doors - Through each of these doors you can see a silhouette of the type of land you will enter if you pass thru that door. After you have completed a land, its door will be closed. To enter a door, press the DOWN ARROW key while standing in front of the door.

Bonus Doors - These doors have spinning question marks in them. You can only enter a bonus door after you have completed a level. Each world has a specific Bonus door situated close by.

Winning the Game - After completing all of the Levels, Enter the Large Wooden Door on the 3rd level to complete the game...

Levels include: Fableland, Candyland, Toyland, Sodaland, Board Game Land, Fairground Land, and Medialand...

Attacking/The Yo-Yo - Scattered throughout the Levels are Yo-Yos which are found in balloons. These will give your Trolls special abilities.

Throwing a Yo-Yo - To throw a Yo-Yo, press the SPACE or FIRE button... If you release FIRE, the Yo-Yo will return back to you. You can even knock out monsters with the Yo-Yo. You might find some places (Yellow Bricks) where you can break thru walls with the Yo-Yo...

Swinging on a Yo-Yo - Once you have collected the Yo-Yo, jump into the air and at the same time, press FIRE or SPACE with the selected throwing angle. If the Yo-Yo attaches to something (e.g. a platform), hold in the FIRE or SPACE and the Troll will swing on the Yo-Yo until you either let go of FIRE or you hit something... Press the LEFT  and RIGHT arrows to make the Troll swing back and forth...

Special Powers:

        The Trolls's normal hair color is Purple, but it's hair color alters as you collect and use objects found in the balloons. The following are collectibles that will give you special powers for a limited time and the color of the troll's hair will change for each:

SPEED UP BOOTS - The Speed Up Boots gives the Troll greater speed, and will also give enhanced jumping capabilities...
        Hair Color: Yellow

SHIELD - The Shield gives you total protection from Monsters.
        Hair Color: Red

BALL & CHAIN - The Ball & Chain will slow down your Troll...
        Hair Color: Black

WINGS - The Wings allow you to fly around the level.
        Haird Color: White

BEER - The Alcohol from the glass of Beer makes your movements very unresponsive until the alcohol wears off.
        Hair Color: Green

SPRING SHOES - The Springy Shoes allow you to jump twice as far as normal.
        Hair Color: Blue

ALARM CLOCK - The Alarm Clock freezes all monsters.
        Hair Color: REMAINS Purple while frozen

Bonus Items:

There are various Bonus items scattered such as food, coins, jewels, etc...

Attempt to find the letters B O G U S to spell BOGUS to attempt a BOGUS Level.
       
Information Panel:

Babies - Indicates the number if baby trolls you have collected so far on this level.

Hearts - You have 3 Hearts... Every time you are hit by a Monster, you will lose a Heart... Lose all 3 Heart, and you die... You can find extra hearts in Balloons...

Exit a Level:

When you have rounded up the required # of Baby Trolls in a level, you receive the message 'FIND THE PIGSTOP'... You must find the sign indication the PIGSTOP somewhere in the level. It looks like a Bus stop sign, with a Pig in an aviators hat or something messed up like that...

Final Notes:

Big Red Elephants - A friend... When he sees you, he jumps away... He remembers your position, so if you die you are returned to where the Big Red Elephant saw you last...

Super Cool White Rabbits with Shades - When you find a lucky rabbit, they add up... For each lucky Rabbit found, you have the choice of continuing your game when you die...
        You start with 5 Lucky Rabbits... Additional Lucky Rabbits can only be found during Bonus Rounds...

Extra Lives - Every 5000 pts

Bonus Levels - You must finish a level before the time runs out, or you  Lose EVERYTHING found on that Bonus Level..
