Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewThe follow-up to Ocarina of Time sees the series stalwart Link embark on a journey to save the land of Termina from being crushed by the moon in three days. To defeat the Skull Kid, Link has to live the same three days over and over again.
PhilosoRaptor rates this game: 5/5I absolutely loved this addition to the Legend of Zelda series. The unorthodox style of the game gave a unique game experience. I remember having such a challenge with the time limit and having to start over every half hour, having to find ways to do everything in that time. Although it doesn't really follow any real continuance into the series, if you think about it, it tells what happened to Link. In Windwaker, it says that the hero disappeared and never returned. In Majora's Mask, it said that he never returned to Hyrule. I love this game.
Anonymous rates this game: 4/5 I remember playing this game along time ago!
The point to this story besides the the "Main Quest"
was to figure out poeples scedules and wear cool-looking masks! Lengthly just like any othe Zeldas.
Give it a try! I know you will like it!
Symbiote rates this game: 5/5Fun game following Ocarina of Time, in which you have 3 days to save the earth from the menacing skull kid.
Styx9001 rates this game: 5/5Believe it or not I like this game more than OoT sorry to say but I think it's just more fun than it because of all the fun masks you can put on and collect and the REALLY long dungeons that are pretty hard to solve while getting all the fairies it's a good Roaming around collecting everything game and I really enjoy it, because they bumped up the graphics a bit since OoT.
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 2/5This game, to be honest, was a disappointment.
I had absolutely loved the Ocarina of Time, and was so excited when it's sequel, Majora's Mask was released, thinking that the game would be quite similar. Boy was I wrong.
It did have similar features to the original, Ocarina of Time. The menu and button functions were all the same, as well as many of the items that you acquire in the first game. But the story of the game and your objectives are ENTIRELY different and the game play as well.
This game is quite a bit shorter than many of the other Zelda games. Your object is basically to retrieve these 4 masks then you confront the main enemy, the skull kid and Majora's Mask.
I also found the way time passed to be a bit annoying. Majora's Mask has a very unique feature of completing your quest within 3 days. These days can be repeated as many times as you find necessary by playing the song of time, but each time you start those 3 days over, most all of your progress is lost (treasures you received except for major items such as the bow or ocarina, people you talk to forget that you ever spoke to them, and including the main bosses that you defeat and the villages you rescue). The only ways to save the game are to either start the three days over, or to do a quick save feature.
I think this game wouldn't have been such a disappointment to me if I hadn't been expecting a true sequel to Ocarina of Time. Overall, it's a Zelda game, and all Zelda games are addicting and fun, but this one I found to be just a little over-hyped and a bit of a waste of time and energy.
