Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewThe follow-up to Ocarina of Time sees the series stalwart Link embark on a journey to save the land of Termina from being crushed by the moon in three days. To defeat the Skull Kid, Link has to live the same three days over and over again.
TheOneWhenDone01 rates this game: 5/5Three days...only three days before death comes to destroy the land of Termina. That Skull Kid is up to no good. He has stolen the most dangerous mask in the world. Majora's Mask. He floats up above the clock tower in North Clock Town and waits for the night of the third day before deciding to destroy Termina with the summoned moon. Play as Link in this epic sequel to Ocarina of Time and explore new lands and temples. Fight tougher bosses. Grab the magical masks to transform into new things. Deku, Goron, Zora, and the most powerful of them all, Fierce Diety Link. Save the people of Clock Town as you defeat the temple bosses and unleash the Guardian Gods to help defeat Skull Kid and save the land of Termina! Get helpful tips from a new fairy, Tatl. This is not your average Zelda game, this game contains fear, depression, and a deadlier fate than Ganon. And the moon isn't an average moon, it has a face. A face filled with evil. As you travel the land of Termina there are many tasks you can complete to get new masks to upgrade your powers, including the Bunny Hood (which I hope we remember from the Super Smash Bros. series). Majora's Mask is an amazing game and I promise you that you will LOVE it.
Vince rates this game: 5/5While everyone knows about the greatness of Ocarina of Time, fewer people know just how amazing Majora's Mask is. In your quest to save Termina from destruction, you travel through a variety of terrains using Masks and items to pass through obstacles. The most interesting feature is that you time travel back to Day 1 of 3 to save the game, which you'll be doing a lot. With a great soundtrack, graphics that take advantage of the N64's Expansion Pak, and a story that keeps you going, Majora's Mask is a definite classic.
2BKurupt rates this game: 5/5A follow up to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, following the events of the young timeline, where links travels back in time and warns Zelda of Ganons evil plans.. This game follows link as he travels into The Lost Woods and finds himself lost "of course" and being fooled around by the Skull Kid who eventually steals his Ocarina.. This is MY MOST FAVORITE ZELDA GAMES EVER... it is also known for being one of the darkest Zelda games as well... I suggest playing this game if you haven't already tried it.. I personally own this game for N64, Gamecube, 3DS and I'm still amazed on how beautiful and dark it is...
Patryk30111 rates this game: 5/5The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is perhaps one of the greatest works of art to ever come out of Nintendo's pockets. I say works of art because the game is still great to this day, better then Ocarina of Time in my opinion.
It's your typical Zelda gameplay: The mute protagonist Link, a large land to explore, vibrant characters to interact and quest with and a large overshadowing plot filled with many dark elements slipped in by Nintendo.
An excellent game that to this day stands as an example to modern gaming.
Cael rates this game: 5/5This game plays very similarly to Ocarina of Time, yet it adds a darker overture and a sense of urgency to the game.
While in Ocarina of time you could spend however much time you wanted in any of the dungeons, in Majora's Mask you are limited to 3 days in game time, or about 54 minutes, including travel. Though this can be sped up by the use of owl statues, similar to the songs related to specific temples in OoT.
The game also originally made use of the N64 "expansion pak" allowing for increased draw distance and real time rendering of building interiors.
Overall, the game was similar enough to OoT to be able to pick it up, but different enough to keep you interested in the story the whole way through.
