Irodzuki Tingle no Koi no Balloon Trip (Ripening Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love) is a point and click adventure game developed by Vanpool. Though technically a sequel to Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, there is little to no relation between the two. While Rosy Rupeeland was a diverse mixture of elements from Zelda, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru to even Punch-Out, Balloon Trip of Love is strictly chapter based point and click adventure game that would fit perfectly with LucasArts' classics of the early 90s. The storyline is a parody of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The game starts when a middle aged man sees an infomercial on TV for a self help book for being a lady's man. The man orders the book and upon opening it is sucked into another world where he becomes known as Tingle. He later meets Kakashi the scarecrow, Buriki the tin robot woman, and Lion the lion as he tries to get back home, and look for love in the process. Note: the game is completely in Japanese. and is barely playable without knowing Japanese (in a few cases the game requires you to type in Japanese). Short review: With a premiss as crazy as Tingle being stuck in The Wizard of Oz and is hitting on women in the process, you know it's gonna be funny. And it is, even without understanding the dialogue. The puzzles are always logical and well made while never feeling forced (though typing in Japanese is a pain). It's a wonderful game, and is highly recommended to anyone who loves point and click adventure games. Plus you'll get to see women get freaked out by the sight of Tingle. Tingle, you're great. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
