Adventures of Tom Sawyer (USA) ROM

The adventure of Tom Sawyer isn't that bad of a game. It's a side-scroller.
The plot is really bland. You, Tom Sawyer, fall asleep... That's the story. You have a weird dream, like going on a pirate ship fighting pirates, and going cave crawling and all that.
The bosses are extremely easy. Most of them you can defeat without dying. Hmm, maybe the final boss will be a wake-up call and he'll be really hard. No, he's the EASIEST boss in the game.
The music is pretty good as well. A bit repetitive, but better than you average crappy NES game.
Your attack is throwing rocks... In an ARCH, but I can accept it in this game because it knows that its hard to hit an enemy. Let me put it like this. There's a power-up that lets you shoot straight. Power-Ups make stuff better. They knew there arch attack was horrible so they added a straight shot power-up. Either that or its a terrible game.
In my opinion this game was a good game. Not a Nintendo classic, but a notable Nintendo game.

I used to play this game all the time as a kid. It was such a simple format and I love the way the character looks.

Controls are tight, Tom responds quickly to all inputs.
Music wasn't good or bad, just sound.
Graphics are CUTE! Bright colors, soft main character, fat babies, what's not to love?
Gameplay is very simple, one hit kill, 3 life play. Your main attack is a rock that Tom doesn't understand how to throw overhanded so you instead have a huge arch the rock travels in which can cause mistakes if you forget or mistime.

Overall, even for such a simple game, it ranks pretty high for me.
