The game is a spin-off game in the Banjo-Kazooie series. The game starts two monts after the events of the first game. Gruntilda is trapped beneath a rock, and his minion Klungo has built a robotic body for her, wich she possesses. Mecha-Grunty kidnaps Kazooie and travels 20 years back in time with her. Mumbo Jumbo uses his magic to send Banjo after Grunty, and the game begins.
