neilencio rates this game: 3/5Even if you're not a fan, you don't have to shy away from Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. Unlike most videogames that were based on TV shows, BTVS: Chaos Bleeds actually has a solid, enjoyable game behind the brand. It can't be denied that it was meant to cash in on the show's success, but in this case, it's perfectly justified. BTVS: Chaos Bleeds is a 3D beat-em-up, with slight puzzle elements. The combat controls is smooth, and the animation is fluid enough that the characters don't look like cardboard cutouts being made to move. Unfortunately, the graphics engine comes off a bit short, with the models being very low on the polygon count, resulting in sharp edges and trapezoids where there should be curves. This is only distracting during the In-game cutscenes, though, so it's not a dealbreaker. The dark, low-light setting actually helps in this case. The sounds are perfect, and actually use the voices of the actual actors. If you like Whedon's witty script, you'll find it in the game as well (although you may be disappointed, since the virtual representations of the actors are nowhere near as good, resulting in hammy, wooden delivery). The puzzle/exploration elements of the game can be enjoyable or annoying, depending on whether you like those sorts of things. One thing for sure is that it adds depth to the game, and works as an icebreaker, preventing the game from devolving into an endless stream of random thugs that you have to beat up and stake. I would also give it plus points for not having any jumping puzzles, which are always annoying to have on a 3D game All in all, you can't go wrong with Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. Even if you hate the show and would just like to play a good beat-em-up with slight exploration and puzzling elements, you will still be able to enjoy this game - just skip all the cutscenes. Just a heads up for people who want to play this on Dolphin - use the later revisions (svn 60** onwards) as the older revisions, while able to emulate this game faster, have problems with the FIFO, resulting in random lockups and crashes.

You can use different characters, meet all the monsters the Chosen One has fought, and be thrilled by experiencing her lifestyle!
