Illbleed is a survival horror game mixed with B move humor where players take control of Eriko Christy as she explores Micheal Reynold's Virtual Horror Land to save her lost friends. The game is very unique among survival horror games as it doesn't focus on attacking enemies like the many Resident Evil clones at the time. Instead, Illbleed is more about avoiding jumpscares in the form of traps and keeping your vitals in check throughout the levels. Using the Horror Monitor, players can disarm traps and find items to help them at the expense of adrenaline. There are some enemy encounters, but the game encourages you to either avoid encounters altogether or runaway from them when possible. Eriko's friends also become playable if you rescue them which is possible to fail at and receive a bad ending. There are many ways to die as well as the player can lose all their health, flatline, and even die from shock. Illbleed is a very underrated gem on the Dreamcast with a great concept that went sadly unappreciated.

Since no one else gave a description, I thought I would toss this one in for anyone who is wondering what this game is about.

It's basically a horror game that plays as though you were walking through a haunted house in your neighborhood during halloween. There a traps that appear from random objects that are detected by your different scents.

Using a pair of goggles, you tag places that you know traps will appear to cancel them out.

There's also combat for those violence junkies out there.
