Starflight (USA, Europe) (v1.1) ROM

Starflight is a space exploration RPG developed by Binary Systems for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1991. This is a remade port of an MS-DOS game of the same name released in 1986. The game is set in the year 4620, where the player controls a starship captain sent to explore the galaxy. There is no initial plot to the game, as the player is allowed to simply explore at their own leisure, eventually stumbling across a plot by a race of ancient aliens to destroy the galaxy.

The game was a critically acclaimed, and is credited for pioneering the sandbox genre, as well as directly influencing future games such as 'Star Control II' and 'Mass Effect'.
