Battle Clash (Europe) ROM

You and your partner fight your way through one on one battles against various mecha called "Standing Tanks" and their pilot until you win your way to the moon and fight against Thanatos.

Short game with solid controls. Fun to play alone with with a few friends who can compete for the best time in beating a round.

Pros

Graphics, sound and controls are all smooth.

SNES emulators often have a mode for the Super Scope and will use the mouse as its proxy. The ZNES emulator I use didn't seem to have any problems.

Each Standing Tank has hit areas ( arm, legs, shoulder mounted weapons) that can be destroyed individually. This reduces the amount/types of attacks that can be used against you as well as reducing hit points.

Text between battles is short, sweet and makes sense.

Hints are given at the beginning of the battle regarding the specific Standing Tank that you will be fighting.

Two-player non-coop hot seat mode. Each player takes turns fighting the same level. You can race to see who can win with the fastest time or who can beat the game.

Single player time trial mode. Beat the match/game as fast as you can.

Backgrounds are different for each battle.

Difficulty is pretty low when using the mouse as a Super Scope.

Not too much replay ability. AI follows a pretty strict pattern with little variation.

No two player co-op mode when one is the gunner and one is the pilot.

Standing Tank designs could have been a bit more varied. All but one are humanoid in design.

Light on plot but for a short game it is not that much of an issue.
