OverviewThe third in the "Narikiri Dungeon" series of Namco's "Tales of" franchise. It includes a number of crossovers with previous Tales games, including Tales of Symphonia and and Tales of Eternia.

STORY INTRODUCTION:

   In this game, you take on the roles of Frio and Kyaro, a young man and woman working under the scientist Dr. Brown, who is leading the excavation of an ancient ruin that was discovered near your hometown after an earthquake.

   Inside the ruins, an ancient device capable of traveling through time and space was discovered. Dr. Brown restores the device to working condition, and Frio and Kyaro hope to use it to meet the legendary heroes from the stories they've been reading since childhood.

   However, in the dead of night, two criminals steal the device and use it to change the course of history in other worlds to fulfil their own selfish desires. Just as hope seems lost, a copy of the device appears, carrying Dr. Brown from the future. His hair has gone white from stress, and he now calls himself Dr. White. The new device will be unearthed a month from now.

   The reason Dr. White has come back to the past is to warn everyone of a great catastrophe that will occur exactly 100 days from now. The Frio and Kyaro of the future have gone missing, and the Frio and Kyaro of today are the only hope of restoring order to the universe. But they are not alone, as Dr. White has recruited some of the legendary heroes that Frio and Kyaro admire to assist them. Wasting no time, Frio, Kyaro, and the heroes depart to defeat the criminals, recover the original device, and avert the impending disaster. And so the story begins...

GAMEPLAY DETAILS:

   =Assemble four parties of three members each to move around on a map, collecting treasure and battling ferocious monsters.
   =Battles occur when a party touches an enemy on the map screen. Battles are real-time and take place on a 2D battlefield.
   =Defeat your enemies by linking together normal attacks and special skills called "Artes" into combos, or simply blow them away with a powerful magic spell.
   =Recruit over 30 heroes from Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Destiny 2, and Tales of Symphonia to aid you in your quest!
   =Use the Narikirishi Clothes, another relic from the ruins, to grant the use of Artes and Magic to Frio and Kyaro, or even transform them into any of the heroes and villains you encounter!

TRANSLATION PATCH:

   This game is in Japanese only, but there is a translation patch available. Download the latest version here: http://blade2187.110mb.com/projects/narikiri-dungeon-3/

    The patch is incomplete as of right now, but the game is very linear, so it's impossible to get lost. Still, the patch fully translates the menus and battle information, so it's a must have if you don't know how to read Japanese.
