Pontinho rates this game: 5/5The game may not make use of all of the strengths of the Nintendo DS but it makes full use of the ones that really matter, bolstering an already impressive game for a new generation of as well as those who look forward to replaying through a classic staple of the role playing genre.

This Reproduction of one of the most famous and Nostalgic games of all time brings some great new features to a historic game that stands out as one of Square Enixes greatest productions, and manages to keep all the classic aspects of ATB gameplay.
Story: 8/10
The 4 crystals that keep the world in balance have been stolen by a powerful warrior named Golbez, and now the only ones who can stop him are a small band of freinds who must venture to many places, including the moon, in order to prevent the awakening of the ultimate evil.
Characters:
Cecil: a young knight haunted by his past, will he be able to conquer the evil within himself?
Kain: the last of the Dragoons, he seeks to find release from the evils Golbez forced him to commit.
Rosa: an enchanting mage who fears that she is a burden to those around her, and must find her own reason for journeying.
Rydia: a young girl blessed by the lord of the eidolons, she must find a way to control the power inside her.
Edge: a ninja seeking vengence for his families death.
Gameplay: 9/10
This game Plays extremely well, with no glitching as far as I could see after playing through it a full three times. The ATB gauge that was first created in the original version of this game still works great, and a remake of the speech of the characters makes the game much more clear and consice. A new Multiplayer interaction involving a summon that can be renamed, redesigned, and empowered adds something that the original was lacking. Clean battles, swift animations, and a whole bunch of new background really make this game play smoothly. The game is in no way harmed by the addition of several new optional mini games that take full advantage of the touch screen.
Graphics: 8.5/10
The new 3d maps and battles are gorgeous, and you can now see the characters move during battle, a brilliant feature. The addition of a dozen 3d cutscenes is a great touch, but is a little irksome after a while as the characters all look like chibis. Summons are now fully animated to great effect, and the opening CGI cutscene is a sight to behold.
Music: 6/10
The score this game contains is wide and well made, and the new music box function allows the player to access any song at any time. The only problem I had with the sounds was that after a while they become repetative.
Overall: 8/10
Great game, very addictive, and a must have for all final fantasy fans. Well worth any money spent on it, I am a hardcore gamer and managed to keep myself amused with this game for over a month
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 5/5
One of the best Final Fantasies ever made, and will probably be known as one of the classics.
The storyline was excellent, in comparison to many RPG's. Cecil, the dark knight begins to question the dark acts in which he is forced to do by his king, and is therefore stripped of his position as captain of the red wings and must prove his loyalty once more to retain it. Cecil, along with a cast of other wonderful, memorable characters, go on an epic quest to protect the crystals from the evil Golbez, and another evil that is darker still.
The soundtrack was pretty good. It suited all of the situations perfectly, and not much is repeated throughout the game.
This is one of the first (and might actually be the first) Final Fantasy to use the active/wait battle mode. For example, each character has a meter that slowly fills. Once filled he or she can make their move of either attacking, using magic, an item or defending. Once they execute their move, that character will not have the ability to take another turn until their meter fills again. I love this type of battle mode. It engages you and makes it feel so much more "real".
The game has also been remade into 3D graphics in the DS version of Final Fantasy IV, which I have to say are gorgeous and made a wonderful game even more amazing! Especially the movie cut-scenes, they're so realistic!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this game, and is absolutely a must for any RPG fan, especially if you're into the Final Fantasy series.
Bob rates this game: 5/5This game is probably my favourite FF game ever, and for it to be re-made?! How could you NOT play it? This game is so fascinating with all the characters, summons, great bosses, music, and of course storyline. This game has got to have one of the greatest storylines that I have experienced! When you start playing you will see what I mean. This is a remake of an already great game as I mentioned before, with all new graphics, music, sound effects, and Brand NEW movies, its a must have!
