XG Blast! (U) ROM

If you like frantic oldschool arcade action, this captures that magic, it's hard not to make references to Robotron 2084 as it's a confined arena shooter with dual controls. You're running the d-pad to drive your ship around the arena and use the xyab buttons as an alternate dpad to control direction of fire (or you can use the stylus, but who would). In my opinion it's the best raw arcade style game I've played on the DS. It's a Blast! Visually XG Blast! is a treat as it plays to your eyes with a fireworks display of colour while you bombard your enemies and collect powerups. The audio department doesn't fall behind either with excellent explosion and weapon audio, well backed up by a thumping soundtrack, this game is loud and it knows it. Highly recommended.
