Samurai Shodown! 2 ROM

Samurai Shodown! 2 is a 2D fighting game that focuses on sword play and magical elements. This game in particular is based on Samurai Shodown 64 Warriors Rage so many of the characters and the overall story is from that game though this version lacks the character Hanma Yagyu, but Jubei Yagyu and Charlotte return in this version. The gameplay is the same as the other Samurai Shodown games with the A button acting as a primary attack button while the B button enables parries and sidesteps. Similar to other 2D fighters from SNK for the Neo Geo Pocket, tapping the attack button is your weak attack and holding the button gets you a stronger attack. The game has traditional special move inputs and the Slash/Bust modes for each character are also present. Players can power up their characters with cards they collect before matches that give their character stat buffs or extra special moves. The game even has a survival mode. Despite being on a handheld device, Samurai Shodown! 2 is fondly remembered by fans of the franchise as the game stays true to its roots while only having half the buttons to work with.
