Samurai Shodown! ROM

Samurai Shodown! is a 2D fighting game focusing on sword play and magical elements. This game marks the first Samurai Shodown game to be on a handheld device and the game's story and cast of twelve characters are based on Samurai Shodown IV. The gameplay is similar to the other Samurai Shodown games with the A button being the slash button and the B button being the kick button. Tapping an attack button gives you a weak attack while holding it gets you a stronger attack. The game has the Slash/Bust modes that are staple to the Samurai Shodown series and the game retains its class system for system mechanics. The game also has a survival mode. While the game's graphics are monochrome and the gameplay isn't as fluid as the original Samurai Shodown games, it was fairly decent for its time given all the limitations of the Neo Geo Pocket. Many of the game's faults would later be addressed in the vastly superior Samurai Shodown! 2.
